
Barbara Steblaj

Barbara Steblaj is a board-certified veterinary anaesthetist with extensive experience across both academic and clinical environments. She has trained and worked in Europe (Slovenia, Belgium, France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland) as well as in the United States (California) and the Caribbean (Grenada), gaining broad international expertise in teaching and research.
Her clinical expertise centres on the perioperative management of high-risk patients. She is deeply engaged in teaching anaesthesia to both undergraduate and postgraduate veterinary students as well as veterinary technicians, combining formal lecturing with hands-on clinical instruction. In addition, she holds the Harvard BOK Higher Education Teaching Certificate, underscoring her commitment to excellence in education.
Her research is focused on the role of microcirculation in anaesthesia and disease. She has published in several peer-reviewed journals and is a frequently asked reviewer.
