VASTA Singapore – Launching Veterinary Anaesthesia Excellence in Asia for Veterinarians
We are thrilled to launch VASTA in Singapore — our first step into the Asian veterinary education landscape. This expansion marks an exciting milestone as we bring our internationally recognized training to a new region, supporting veterinary professionals across Asia in mastering the art and science of anaesthesia.
VASTA Singapore offers the full 6-module program, designed to build practical competence, deepen clinical understanding, and award internationally recognized certification in veterinary anaesthesia and pain management. All classes are in English and welcome participants from Singapore and across the region.
Both lectures and hands-on practical sessions take place at Vetducate — a leading veterinary education centre equipped with advanced training facilities.

The course consists of six 2.5-day modules, spread over approximately one year. There are separate cohorts for veterinarians and veterinary nurses, with each group receiving content tailored to their clinical role. Each of the six modules delivers approximately 20 hours of structured, in-person learning, including formal assessments, practical sessions, and pre/post-course assignments. The six modules
CVAP — Certification and International Recognition
After completing all modules and the final examination, participants receive the internationally recognized title CVAP: Certified Veterinary Anaesthesia Practitioner.
The CVAP title is recognized by the following professional and regulatory bodies:
• AVA – Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists (International — primarily UK/Europe-based)
• IVAPM – International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management (USA-based, global reach)
• GST/SVK – Gesellschaft für Schweinemedizin / Schweizerische Vereinigung für Kleintiermedizin (Switzerland)
• VÖK – Vereinigung Österreichischer Kleintiermediziner:innen (Austria)

- Module 1: 4–6 November 2026 · Pre-anaesthetic evaluation & induction
- Module 2: 13–15 January 2027 · Inhalant anaesthesia & clinical monitoring
- Module 3: 3–5 March 2027 · Cardio-respiratory physiology, ventilation & fluids
- Module 4: 12–14 May 2027 · High-risk anaesthesia & clinical scenarios
- Module 5: 14–16 July 2027 · Locoregional anaesthesia & emergencies
- Module 6: 22–24 September 2027 · Pain physiology & multimodal management
- Final exam (optional): 14–16 January 2028 · Earn CVAP certification upon passing
Next exam: 15–17 January 2027. The full VASTA program is designed to provide up to 120 CPE points, accredited under the Structured (S1) activity category of the Singapore AVS framework. To maintain certification, graduates must complete at least four days (32 hours) of continuing education in anaesthesia, analgesia, or intensive care every four years. Participants upload their CPD certificates and get recertified via an online platform.
Faculty in Singapore
Peter Kronen is the founder of VAS-International and founder and director of VASTA, the only internationally operating executive school for veterinarians and nurses in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia. Trained at the Universities of Pisa, Munich, Harvard, Cornell, and UC Davis, he served as head of service at the University of Berne before founding VAS-International. In 2023, he was rated 3rd in Entrepreneur Mirror's global innovative entrepreneurial rating.
Olivia d'Anselme is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (since 2024). She graduated from the École Nationale Vétérinaire d'Alfort (ENVA) in France and trained in Argentina, Singapore, England, and Switzerland, completing a residency at the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Zurich. Her clinical focus is large animal anaesthesia, particularly anaesthesia protocols and locoregional techniques in cattle. She is multilingual in Spanish, French, English, and German.
